What's the Soup d'jour? It's the soup of the day. Mmmm...that sounds good, I'll have that.

Example

Clifton told me that my bangs looked like Lloyd Christmas' from Dumb and Dumber...and then I started thinking about what a great movie it is...not about how maybe I should change my hair, because personally, I think that Lloyd Christmas is STYLING!!!

anyway. We are listening to Dumb and Dumber right now courtesy of listentoamovie.com

I became hooked on this site when I was in grad school.
Although action movies are kind of hard to listen to.
Kristen and I tried listening to X-men and couple times. and Indiana Jones. and Star Wars. no good, really. But comedies that you know really really well and documentaries are perfect for this type of thing.

Comments:
never understood the total hilarity of dumb and dumber. i watched it in the theatre like everybody else. one laugh. when jim clobbers old whatserhead lauren or something. anyway, the snowball fight is genius. the rest-drivel. in college, z.s. made me watch it again when i told him what i thought of it. still boo. i won't fall for that one again. the moral of this story? change your hair, kate. i'll cut it. i'll cut it real good.

"Aspen...California...where the beer flows like wine." Or or upon looking at the plains: "that John Denver is full of shit, man." Or or: "I can't find a job anywhere in this town" "Yeah, unless you wanna work 40 hours a week." etc. etc. Its a laugh a second rivaled only by Napoleon Dynamite, which I know Will loves.

But let me talk to just Will for a second: Will, Dumb and Dumber is timeless. It actually gets funnier with each viewing. You're only on #2. Come on, watch it again. Come over, it'll be different this time. It's always on at my house--24-7. By now I'm laughing so hard that I've broken a rib and shattered my pelvis. My voice box is shot and all my hair is falling out. ALL of it.

okay, i guess i'll try it ag....wait a minute! i said i'm not FALLING FOR THAT AGAIN! do you think i didn't pay attention the first two times? generally suck-o. save the snowball fight, it was mayor suckston of suckville. okay, i'll watch it again.

It is true. It gets funnier after each watching. Like I know Napoleon Dyno will when I start watching it everyday when the DVD comes out.

Will, it is okay if you don't like Dumb and Dumber. I feel that people either LOVE it or people HATE it.

But at least you like the snowball scene. The snowball scene is classic. Hurling objects at female faces with the intention to hurt is always funny...what???

nonononononononono. it's not battering women in specific that i love. it's the two different worlds that they're coming from. one is ultra competitive and the other is cutesy puddles and lovey puppies. like adam sandler playing dodge ball with those third graders in billy madison. now, kate, i know you know i don't condone physical abuse of women, but mashing the face of a girl that likes you into a pile of snow just about makes me turn that snow yellow. the underdog winning was original for a while. now, it's the cliche`. and beating the stew out of the underdog is new again. yippee! taboo analysis is my favorite.

wait a minute. you guys got me sidetracked, here. the point is that kate has apparently given herself a bad haircut and i have offered my services to remedy the situation. you're all way too hung up on the worldwide takeover of the goddamned farrelly fucks. we're talking hair!

You need to take a picture of yourself and put it up with the picture of Lloyd for reference, Kate.

I still haven't had the chance to see Napoleon Dynamite. The girls who live behind the elevators on my floor have a big print out of the Liger on the wall next to the trash closet demanding us to see it. And I've seen people wearing sport shirts supporting The Ligers. Pretty funny. I wish I could see it. Some day...some day.
