One more thing

I have to say that I love ichat.
Deb has ichat now and I had such a good time typing with her.
OH and she is going to be at CAA in atlanta in feburary and is staying with me!!!

YAY!!!

back to ichat. We got our hands on an iSight camera and got to have a hi-tech conversation with ian anderson two nights ago and with ian whitmore last night. awesome. I want my other friends to get ichat too so we can talk virtually on the information super highway.

mississippi madness

sorry for the lack of updates lately.
We both have been busy and have been neglecting Nonstop to MS. Yikes!
Here are some photos of some posters that I made this weekend for a big group project that the ENTIRE college is doing. I am on a committee that is organizing it. Five committee members trying to organize 400 people isn't as easy as it sounds. It hasn't happened yet and things will be all over in a week and a half. I have A LOT of design and assembling work to do. I have a hard time saying no. My annual review is still due in less than a week as well. It is turning out to be a bit more involved that I had originally thought.

If I only had to teach classes, things would be a BREEZE!
Going to Jackson this weekend to recruit high school students from the Mississippi School of Fine Arts and on Friday I am giving a printing demo to some of my students at the house. FUN!

Classes this semester

I have a short break between my graphic design two class and my typography one class right now. My classes have gone very well so far, with all three of them filled with students that I really enjoy being around. It is much better this semester because I have several student repeats and I feel like I have already formed a pretty decent relationship with all of them to this point. I am excited to have this semester to get to know them better. My graphic design two class seriously doesn't have one student in it that I even mildly dislike. All 16 of them are fun, funny and hard workers. and they like me so it makes my life pretty easy during the hours of 11-2 tuesday and thursday.

I have my annual teaching review coming up soon with nothing organized for it yet. I am supposed to have a binder full of information and what I have is an empty binder and a shaky comprehension of what the binder is supposed to contain.

I set up blogs for all three of my classes and have made each student get a blogger profile so they may comment on posts. So far the discussion has been timid, but I think it will liven up as the semester progresses.

Okay, going to teach type now.

The family went to our favorite store in Vienna...Americana Antiques. The owners are good friends of my parents and they have a fantastic collection of EVERYTHING! Kory bought a sweet 1940's hat and well, cliff didn't buy the fez.

Waffle House and Bowling

Example
mr. manning, mr. wells and mr. leazer at the Rolla, Missouri Bowling Alley on Christmas Night.

Mr. Manning lives in NYC, Mr. Wells lives in Jacksonville, Fl (and is a secret agent...I don't know if I was supposed to type that) and Mr. Leazer just got back from Albania with his wife Eda (and my old college roommate) and they now live in Columbia, Missouri. I was GREAT seeing them again. Mr. Reese was there too, but I didn't get a photo of him...

Cliff and His Banjo

Example

Cliff has a banjo and I am joining the Starkville Community Band playing my flute.
I think playing the banjo is a bit cooler than playing flute in a Mississippi Community Band, but I am all about being the dork, so it fits.
